The 13th Rose

So for my first assignment in my Wedding Photography class we had to do anything that was related to weddings (bridal portrait, engagement session, ect.) And she wanted to see something that inspired us or a style that inspired us.

I've been following YoukaiYume for for goodness only knows how long. Her art work has always been amazing and a piece that particularity stuck with me was a short manga she did called 'Willow' found here: [link]

This image was inspired by that comic as I wanted to show a representation of Willow as "Deaths Bride" calmly awaiting her fate. A bit dark for a bridal portrait but I'm trying to shake things up a bit in class.

I wish I could have made the mask as awesome as YoukaiYume drew it. I truly do. Buuut I'm not perfect and I think I got pretty close to giving it justice haha. I chose to incorporate the mask, the dead roses and the idea that she looked as if she was dressed for her funeral when really it was her wedding day.

If you haven't read the comic DOES IT! Its a great plot and awesome art work and its only like 8 pages long. Do it, do it, do it!

YoukaiYume: Thanks so much for letting me attempt this and I really hope it did enough justice for how amazing the story is!
